Metro Atl. Floors recently finished up a hardwood flooring project in Woodstock Georgia that we wanted to share. The homeowners originally has some light colored carpet throughout the house but were huge fans of hardwood floors. They got in contact with Metro and after a process of looking through samples and taking into account the conditions in the home, the decision was an engineered Brazilian Tiger Wood. Check out the images below.
Brazilian Tiger Wood is sometimes referred to as, Brazilian Koa. The exotic wood is characterized by its vibrant range of colors and contrasting stripes. As you can see from the images below, there is a dark stripped pattern found throughout the wood and truly resembles the look of a tiger.
Before installing the wood flooring, Metro was sure to conduct and moisture content evaluation to safeguard against any possible issues. To prevent moisture from seeping through the concrete slap sub flooring, Metro decided to go with a Mapei 995. Mapei 995 is a hybrid glue that includes moisture barrier in the adhesive. Metro is very fond of this product for our remodeling projects and recommends it to the DIYer. The engineered Brazilian Tiger Wood was then glued to the concrete subflooring and the result is seen below. Comment below and tell us what you think of the installation.
