So you’ve ordered some flooring and you can’t wait to finally be able to walk on it. We don’t blame you one bit. First of all, the length of time it takes for installation depends on what type of finish you chose when you ordered your flooring.

Site-finished flooring will take longer as the finish has to be applied at the site of the project and you have to wait for it to dry as well. Factory-finished is where the finish is applied at the factory instead of when the flooring is installed. This is the quickest method since it doesn’t have to dry after installation.

Keep in mind that site-finished flooring needs to be installed by someone who has extensive experience when it comes to applying the finish. The reason for this is that the wood has to reach EMC (Equilibrium Moisture Content) in order for the install to be successful. Not to mention, you want to make sure that your new flooring is installed properly in other aspects as well.

There you have it folks. Now you know what kind of flooring finish is quicker and which one will require more attention to detail. Good luck on your upcoming flooring project!
