One of the most memorable NCAA Tournaments concluded a little over a week ago, and to keep with the theme we decided to share our top college hardwood courts. Our criteria is based off design and aesthetic appeal.

Carolina basketball plays its home games at the Smith Center, one of the most recognized athletic venues in America. The Smith Center became the home of the Tar Heels in 1986 and has since become a cherished traditional symbol of Carolina basketball. – GoHeels.com

With his design, Hatfield wanted to pay tribute to the tree covered region and the “Tall Firs,” Oregon’s original championship basketball team from 1939. The stencil graphics, which were completed by United Services in Idaho, represent the view from beneath a forest full of fir trees. It took over 2,500 man hours to complete the graphics on the court. – Sole Collector


“We’re applying watermark tiger stripes to the playing surface along with new baseline logos and the new ‘Tiger Paw’ mark at the scorer’s table,” Towson senior associate athletics director Mike Harris said on the school’s web site. – USA Today
